County considers marijuana’s impact on local agriculture
Published Sunday March 12
Marijuana cultivation appears to be a perennial topic in Solano County, what with the once-illegal plant gaining legal status thanks to voters last November.
The matter returns to the Solano County Board of Supervisors Tue in the form of a presentation by Jim Allan, the county’s agricultural commissioner.
Allan is slated to give an overview “of the horticultural and agricultural ramifications and considerations should one or more aspects of cannabis cultivation be considered in Solano County,” according to a staff report.
As the county grapples with the regulation of the now-legal marijuana, supervisors are exploring any and all aspects that could impact Solano.
